homework post

(blogger has a transliteration function in its post editor, so I wrote my homework here. There's an article on the Navbharat Times website about how a book of Obama's speeches is being sold to people in Japan to help them learn English. Crazy!

Khan market again

Here in Khan market again. I've been compiling a list things that we've had to deal with here in Delhi, and here they are:

You probably shouldn't come to India if...

1) You're a clean freak
2) You don't like spicey food or have acid reflux
3) Are uncomfortable with blatant, pervasive poverty
4) Are agoraphobic
5) Have phobias associated with car horns or traffic
6) Get freaked out by people staring or taking pictures of you. Foreigners here (ESPECIALLY women) are quite the spectacle here. At the Taj Mahal we had people coming up to us asking is they could take pictures with us.

At the Taj Mahal.
They wanted pictures.
Of US.

All for now. Saal Mubarak! (happy new year)
